We’re beyond excited to share that Golpo has been recognised by The Sun as one of the Top 10 Curry Houses in the UK, handpicked by renowned chef Karim Ullah — co-founder of Brohmon in Essex and a familiar face on TV for his passion for authentic Indian cuisine.
Karim highlighted Golpo for its traditional Bengal flavours served with a modern Cambridge touch, describing it as “smart inside and not a white tablecloth in sight.” Among his favourites were our Hawkers Tilapia Fritters — delicious fish fried in Punjabi spices and garlic — the rich and slow-cooked Kosha Mangsho (lamb curry), and the comforting Aloo Posto (spicy potatoes).
At Golpo, every dish tells a story — a Golpo — inspired by the vibrant streets, homes, and heritage of Bengal. To be recognised on a national stage for staying true to our roots while reimagining tradition for today’s diners means the world to our team.
A heartfelt thank you to Karim Ullah for the incredible recognition and to all our wonderful guests in Cambridge and beyond for supporting us on this journey. Your love for authentic Bengal cuisine continues to inspire everything we do.
